Gears of War 4 Review For PC And Xbox: Is There A Difference?

With Gears of War 4 up and ready for Release on the Xbox One and PC, huge fans of the game have been wondering which version of the hit third-person shooter game from Microsoft studios gives avid players the best gaming experience.

According to gamerant, people from Digital Foundry decided to give a detailed technical analysis of Gears of War 4 on both platforms, pitting the Xbox One against the PC version to see which handles the game better in terms of hardware specifications and final product output.

In the video by Digital Foundry, they note that Xbox One's graphics was at par with the PC version, even when the PC's graphic settings are at its best preset visual setup; Gears of War 4 runs on Epic Studio's latest version of unreal engine 4 and is the first Gears of War game available in two platforms.

The video also compares the many different presets for the PC and Xbox One, showing how the different dynamics of each graphic preset affect gameplay and overall gaming experience.

At the end of the video, Digital Foundry's verdict cites that Gears of War 4 on the Xbox One is one of the most beautifully polished games in the franchise and lives up to the franchise's heritage in the console sphere and the also the most impressive PC port to date.

While Gears of War 4's graphics have been impressive so far, multiplayer features may get Xbox One players who want to play against their PC buddies discouraged. According to Shacknews, Gears of War 4's multiplayer mode does not have a cross-platform feature.

"Given that Xbox Play Anywhere is a new feature for Xbox One and PC players, this is the first time such a limitation has been put in place. Previous Xbox Play Anywhere titles, such as ReCore and Forza Horizon 3, didn't offer any kind of competitive multiplayer modes, making this a surprising, but not completely unexpected, move by Microsoft," cites Shacknews.
