Actress Shailene Woodley Ungrateful? Theo James To Leave 'Divergent' Role, Woodley Continues Her Fight Against Dakota Access Pipeline Project

"Divergent" stars Shailene Woodley and Theo James are reportedly leaving their roles in the final installment of the movie franchise, "Ascendant." Both stars apparently disagree with the producers' decision to turn "Divergent: Ascendant" into a TV series.

Woodley who plays as Tris on "Divergent" expressed her discontent with the conditions discussed in her contract. James who portrays the character of Four seems to share the same thoughts as well. The news broke after reports claimed that "Divergent" is not doing well with ratings and may fail to hit box office.

Unfortunately, some critics were also not happy with Woodley being vocal about her dissatisfaction on the proposed "Divergent: Ascendant" TV series. Some even called her ungrateful for her comments about the show, HealthAim reported.

It can be recalled that Lionsgate already expressed their intent of turning "Divergent: Ascendant" into a TV show to gain more viewers. This was apparently not taken well by some fans as well as the main characters of the film, including Woodley and James.

However, the "Divergent" producers are still planning to push a prequel or a spinoff sequel even after reports that the lead actors are planning to back out from the project. The said spin-off is suggested to feature younger or older versions of the characters from the original "Divergent" film.

Meanwhile, "Divergent" star Woodley has been released from Morton County Jail after being arrested for criminal trespassing as confirmed by her representative, E! Online reported. Woodley then posted an update on her Instagram account showing a canoe with hashtags #alwaysinallways #heartforward #uptous #NoDAPL #protectcleanwater #iamonyourside.

The "Divergent" actress seems to be determined in voicing out her disapproval on the construction of the Dakota Access pipeline. Her arrest happened while she was reportedly protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline peacefully which she livestreamed on her Facebook account.
