Children Should Be Shown Pornography In School And Sex Education Should Be Abolished, Says Dame Jenni Murray

A veteran radio personality has suggested that traditional sex education lessons taught among students in the secondary level should be scrapped in schools. Dame Jenni Murray of Radio 4 in the U.K. said that as a replacement, the students must be made to watch pornography in their Biology class. She also called for a separate subject on gender education in the bid to rebuild sex education in this day and age.

Speaking at the Cheltenham Literary Festival, the radio presenter said that perhaps students should be asked to analyze pornography the way they are asked to analyze a Jane Austen novel in English class. "You put boys and girls together in a class and you show them a pornographic film and you analyze it in exactly the same way as you teach them to read all the other cultures around them," Jenni Murray said, according to Independent.

The dame also believes that putting pornography viewing under Biology class would be met with less opposition from parents. "No parent is going to say 'Oh, I don't want my child getting involved in biology or science,'" Jenni Murray said, per Telegraph. Consequently, having a gender education class instead of a sex education class would be less off-putting. "It doesn't have the word sex in it so nobody can complain or be upset," she said, Brietbart reports.

The mother of two emphasized that moms and dads must be aware of how easy it is for their children to access pornography on the internet. Children as young as 11-years-old are even sharing explicit photos with each other on their mobile phones. Thus, parents' involvement in teaching the kids about sex education is just as important as the school's role. The dame's suggestion, however, has been shunned by critics, who said that allowing kids to watch such sensitive materials would be an irresponsible move.

What do you think parents? Does the dame's point hit the mark? Would you be OK with the school teaching kids about pornography? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
