‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 13 Recap: Alex Gained His Reputation Back? Meredith, Riggs Keep A Painful Secret On ‘Falling Slowly’

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 Episode 4 saw Alex Karev's struggles with his new career in a free clinic. Meredith Grey and Nathan Riggs also had difficulties in dealing with patients in Grey Sloan. Additionally, Amelia and Owen's marriage is on the rocks.

Alex hopes to prove himself as a valuable member of the community on "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 by working in a free clinic but he later struggled keeping up with his co-workers, Celeb Dirty Laundry reported. Alex initially wanted to leave the clinic then he encountered Emma's case, an alcoholic patient who was suffering from a rare joint disorder.

Though Alex is a surgeon on "Grey's Anatomy," he was not allowed to act as a doctor to any patients in the free clinic. So, when he learned about Emma's condition, he relayed the details of how to help Emma with Richard who is a recovering patient in the said clinic. Richard communicated what Alex said to Emma and everything went well.

Nathan and Meredith also faced some difficulties dealing with a patient named Polly on "Grey's Anatomy." It was a complicated case for the surgeons, including Owen as they were not able to initially diagnose that the patient had a ruptured spleen that made her condition worse. Unfortunately, Polly had been left paraplegic which troubled Owen as he blames himself for being preoccupied with her problems with Amelia that might have affected his job.

Owen is facing marriage problems with Amelia on "Grey's Anatomy" since Amelia found out that Owen has not been telling her the truth about his past. Amelia was upset that even Nathan knows more about Owen and she was just kept in the dark. Owen, however, has already decided to talk to Amelia and it remains to be seen whether the couple will be able to work out their relationship on "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13.

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 ended with Nathan and Meredith agreeing to remain colleagues, Hollywood Life reported. However, Maggie walked in so the two doctors changed their conversation to protect Maggie's feelings.
