Nintendo DS Classics 'Animal Crossings: Wild World' & 'Kirby Canvas Curse' Resurrected?

Two of the early console favorites make a virtual comeback for Nintendo system. "Animal Crossings: Wild World" and "Kirby Canvas Curse" have landed into Nintendo Wii U and priced at $9.99 apiece.

Polygon reports that the two classic games, "Animal Crossings: Wild World" and "Kirby Canvas Curse", are now up for download in Wii U eShop on October 13. Fans of the early 2000s games can enjoy the classics through the Wii U's off-screen gamepad.

Initially released in 2005, "Animal Crossings: Wild World" and "Kirby Canvas Curse" have debuted through Nintendo DS. Even though it has been 11 years since "Animal Crossings: Wild World" and "Kirby Canvas Curse" have graced everyone's then-favorite gaming console, it remained a cult favorite.

As of March 2016 says a Nintendo document, "Animal Crossings: Wild World" is ninth best Nintendo DS game as it had 11.75 million copies sold worldwide. Meanwhile, "Kirby Canvas Curse" has been included in the top 100 games across all Nintendo platforms in 2014, according to Official Nintendo Magazine.

Aptly put, it makes justice why classics have been resurrected for modern gaming console. "Animal Crossings: Wild World" and "Kirby Canvas Curse", however, were not entirely remade as their graphics remain to be what they were over a decade ago.

"Kirby Canvas Curse" is one of the first stylus or touchscreen-utilizing classics games to be brought to the modern console, says a Game Spot report. In 2015, a sequel of "Kirby Canvas Curse" has been released for Wii U in the form of "Kirby and the Rainbow Curse".

Meanwhile, "Animal Crossings: Wild World" can be a better option instead of its spin-off, "Animal Crossings: amiibo Festival", as the latter has been highly criticized in the previous years. Per another Polygon report, "Animal Crossings: amiibo Festival" belongs to the worst video games of 2015.
