Missouri Mother Died Of Gunshot In Front Of Two Sons: Suspects Are Still Being Searched

A 22-year-old Missouri mother was shot in a minivan she is driving. Her two sons were with her in the vehicle when the incident happened.

Whitney Gray, was traveling with her two young children, one is an 8-month-old and the other is a 3-year-old. A teen is also at the back seat when the shooting happened after an apparent road rage incident. Nobody was injured apart from what happened to Gray.

Gray's vehicle came to a stop a block away from the shooting, according to police. Unfortunately, she died of a single gunshot wound and declared dead on the spot. The shooting was a result of the road rage incident between two other vehicles, Fox News reported.

Police found several bullet holes in the windshield and it was suspected that Gray may have "cut off" a man driving another vehicle. Investigators point to a white SUV in connection with the incident. The search of the said vehicle is still ongoing.

The Independence Police Department said that there should be a lot of witnesses around the scene. "It's a pretty nice day out weather-wise, so there are a lot of people out and about. We are hoping maybe someone saw something who has not spoken with us yet, so we would like them to come forward as well." Police Officer John Syme said.

The two kids are too young to lose a mom and it is heartbreaking to see them go parentless. Family and friends decided to set up a GoFundMe for Gray's children and further cover funeral costs.

As of today, $1,966 has been raised of the $25k goal. The donation page was just set up 12 hours ago. People are sending condolences and even rage out of the senseless tragedy that happened to Gray and two sons.
