Sacramento Kings Trade Rumors: Boston Celtics' Isaiah Thomas Thinks DeMarcus Cousins Will Be Great Fit For Team

Boston Celtics has been the subject of trade rumors in the past days and the latest is about Isaiah Thomas expressing that Sacramento Kings player DeMarcus Cousins being a great fit for their team. Another report concerning Sacramento Kings is that Ty Lawson will reportedly be traded in order to acquire Ricky Rubio.

NESN reported that Thomas was interviewed recently and he was asked about how content he is with the current roster of Boston Celtics. The Boston Celtics point guard then said in a statement that despite having all-star forward Al Horford on their team, he believes that Cousins would make the team even stronger and increase the chances of winning this year's championship title.

He shared, "If he came to Boston, that would be good, really good. The thing is, I've got his respect. I've always had that." Thomas and Cousins have been teammates in the past after the former player spent three seasons with the Sacramento Kings.

Thomas added that Sacramento Kings has employed six different coaches in their most recent six years with Cousins being part of the team but nobody seems to blend well with the 26-year-old player. Thomas then said that if Cousins was in Boston Celtics, things would change because they have this understanding and teamwork as they set aside their personal issues whenever they come to court and play.

Cousins is in a contract with Sacramento Kings until 2018 before he reaches free agency. If the trade with Boston Celtics and Sacramento Kings would push through, the former team would have to give up many players in order to acquire Cousins since he is the best asset that the latter team has now. There have been no confirmations about this possible deal yet.

As for Sacramento Kings, the team is said to be looking to trade Lawson in order to get Rubio. Chatt Sports Net reported that Lawson's recent behavior might have been the reason for his name being thrown into the trading block. Accordingly, Lawson missed a flight to Kentucky and flew back to Sacramento. During the offseason, Lawson was acquired by Sacramento Kings to replace Rajon Rondo.

Sacramento Kings is said to be looking to trade Lawson for Rubio as they want the latter to play alongside Cousins.
