Shay Mitchell is a Canadian actress from the TV series, "The Pretty Little Liars" known as Emily Fields. Shay Mitchell's extreme and active lifestyle in real life is very much different than the role she plays on the show. Shay talked about her life out of the zone of "The Pretty Little Liars."

Shay Mitchell has released a statement on Self magazine about her active lifestyle and what she does on a daily basis when she's not on the shoot of "The Pretty Little Liars." She said that the message she sends out is that "you can do whatever you want to do." Mitchell added that if she's going to say that, she needs to do it herself.

The Canadian native actress has been active in social media and talks about health, traveling and her lifestyle on her YouTube channel, with now more than one million subscribers, according to E! Online. Shay Mitchell said she loves trying out new things, and with her different interests, she's about to come up with a workout series.

Shay Mitchell's workouts on her posts are intense and mixed up with running, boxing and spin. Emily Fields of "The Pretty Little Liars" mentioned she likes to do her own stunts as one of her fitness goals. Shay Mitchell added that her generation can be multi-hyphenated and that she doesn't have to stay in a box.

Shay Mitchell has explained about her thoughts on Self magazine about jumping from one industry to another and said acting is the direction she pleases to go. The "Pretty Little Liars" star also looks up to celebrities like Jessica Alba, who's a businesswoman and Hollywood actress.

Shay Mitchell's confidence has soared together with the hustle she puts in at work ever since the show "The Pretty Little Liars" has become a hit on TV. Shay used to work as a cocktail waitress in Toronto back in 2009 when she was still auditioning, according to Self. Shay Mitchell mentioned that during those times she already thought she's a successful actress in her head and that the power of working, visualizing and having faith has put her to that place.

However, Shay's confidence and vision has been given her comments such as to forget her dreams and a wealthy husband shall take place instead. Shay Mitchell evidently listened to her dreams and pursued them instead.

Shay Mitchell has already put a brand on different social media applications like Snapchat, YouTube and Instagram. "The Pretty Little Liars" star insisted that what she posts, including the inspirational quotes, are some things that can change anybody's day.

Shay Mitchell's active lifestyle and success also made her look on her past life. Her mother is a Filipino and her father is white. Shay Mitchell mentioned her mother would often get mistaken as her nanny and that she would eat at a bathroom stall due to bullying. Mitchell has also been vocal about speaking out against bullying and being an advocate on behalf of the LGBT community due to her role of Emily Fields on "The Pretty Little Liars."
