Netflix's 'The Crown' Cast And Premiere Date Revealed: The New Series Is Said To Feature Queen Elisabeth II And Her Reign

A new series is said to hit Netflix and fans are eager to know what's in store for them. It was recently announced that Netflix is set to air "The Crown," which is focused on the Royal Family.

A new series featuring the Royal Family is said to air on Netflix next month. It was announced that the series will be directed by Stephen Dadry. "The Crown" is written and created by the same creator of "The Queen," Peter Morgan, which a is a great take on the royal family, starring Helen Mirren."The Queen" aired in 2006 which managed to capture its audience as they were given a glimpse of the Royal Family.

"Downtown Abbey" may no longer be around to keep their viewers entertained, but a new star-studded series is set to hit the screens next month. Pop Sugar announced that "The Crown" which is focused on the royal family, will star some of the biggest names on television. The "Pride and Prejudice" star, Matt Smith is said to take on the role of Prince Philip. As for the queen, on the other hand, it was mentioned that Claire Foy from the "Wolf Hall" will take on her role. Aside from Matt Smith and Claire Foy, Jared Harris, Vanessa Kirby, John Lithgow, and Greg Wise are reportedly set to star in the upcoming series.

It was revealed that "The Crown" will give fans a glimpse of Queen Elisabeth II during her younger years. As the series would progress, it would eventually transition into the early reign of the queen, which includes political struggles and the brewing romance. It was hinted that "The Crown" can possibly go beyond season 1 as reported by Pop Sugar. "The Crown" is set to premiere on Netflix on November 4.
