‘Gran Turismo Sport’ Release Date: New GT Sport Gameplay Reveals Nurburgring Track, Race Cars, Enhanced Audio

Nothing much has been heard from Sony and developer Polyphony Digital since it announced the delay of the "Gran Turismo Sport" release and cancelled pre-orders two months ago. Now, a new gameplay has been released only by PlaneteGT.

According to PlaneteGT, the "Gran Turismo Sport" gameplay was filmed during the recent Paris Motor World on the stand of the FIA. The GT Sport, also assumed as the "Gran Turismo 7" that fans have all been waiting for, used a Mercedes AMG GT S in the gameplay, tested on a 5.14 kilometers racetrack.

The "Gran Turismo Sport" gameplay highlights the Nurburgring track and features an improved graphics. The details of the race cars are also close to how they actually look like in real life, and the audio sounds have also been enhanced to make the experience of being on the racetrack closer to reality.

"Gran Turismo Sport" was originally set to be released this coming November, and the pre-orders were opened in June. However, Sony and Polyphony Digital reportedly encountered several difficulties during the game's development process, forcing them to move the release of the racing game to 2017.

Because they couldn't give a specific release date yet for the "Gran Turismo Sport," they decided to cancel the pre-order and refund the payments. "Once we have a new release date for Gran Turismo Sport we will offer a revised pre-order for it on the PlayStation Store at the earliest opportunity," according to the announcement per GameRant.

Meanwhile, there is also no news about Sony's plans for a "Gran Turismo 7," much to the disappointment of fans eagerly waiting for it. As Parent Herald previously reported, the producer of the hit car racing game, Kazunori Yamauchi, explained in a roundtable how the "Gran Turismo Sport" is the "Gran Turismo 7" in essence. That is despite their previous statements that they were still working on GT7, but GT Sport would be coming out first.
