Microsoft News & Updates: Surface Pro 5 Will Be Released Late! Delay Due To Kaby Lake Processor?

It has been reported that the Surface Pro 5 release will be delayed. There are myriad of reasons for the delay of Surface Pro 5, however, it has been trimmed down to three major reasons.

According to iTech Post, the Surface Pro 5 was not revealed during Microsoft's recent event in New York on Oct. 26. The absence of Surface Pro 5 during the said event left many Microsoft users and fans disappointed. The Surface Pro 5 has been one of the most awaited devices that many have been talking about.

The release of Surface Pro 5 has been rumored to be early 2017. Leaks and other reports have contributed to the almost confirmation of Surface Pro 5's release.

There are three good reasons for the delay of Surface Pro 5. These reasons may well be the real reason or may be an observation based on how Microsoft has been working on playing with the market.

The Surface Pro 5 is also coming with a good number of improvements by having new and unique features. Microsoft may be studying closely and carefully the moves and innovations of its arch-competition, Apple.

Surface Pro 5 may also be delayed because of Redstone 2. The Redstone 2 supports the new line of Surface devices of Microsoft. Upon carefully looking at the new line of Surface Book and Surface Studio desktop, it suggests that it may be one of the reasons.

One of the reasons for the delay of Surface Pro 5 could be the Kaby Lake chip. It has been confirmed by reliable sources that Microsoft has ordered as is currently waiting for the Kaby Lake chips supposed to be available by end of 2016. Using Kaby Lake for Surface Pro 5 is one of the biggest overhauls on the Surface device so waiting for the chip is necessary.

As added by iDigitalTimes, at present, Intel has released Kaby Lake chips to many of its hardware partners. The latest configuration will enable for devices a performance boost of up to 25 percent which will provide an improved battery life for Surface Pro 5.
