‘The Crown’ Updates: Everything You Need To Know About The New Netflix Series, Cast Members, Premiere Date, Watch Trailer & Read Spoilers

Netflix has another brilliant show to offer with the scheduled premiere of its new series, "The Crown" this week. Starting Nov 4, the Crown's creator, Peter Morgan will let viewers take a closer look at the life of a prominent royalty from United Kingdom, Queen Elizabeth II.

For its Season 1, "The Crown" that is set for ten episodes that will be one-hour each is said to be most expensive TV series ever. According to The Telegraph, Netflix's budget for this series amounted to €100 million.

As posted in Mirror UK, fans should not expect "The Crown" to start calmly as the first scene will show an ill and weak King George VI (played by Jared Harris) as he spits out blood in a lavatory. The King's demise will, of course, paved the way for a new queen, the longest-running monarch in UK, Queen Elizabeth II. The series will show how the then 25-year old Elizabeth (who is in Kenya on a holiday) will receive the news of her father's death.

"The Crown" will then follow the reign of Queen Elizabeth II (played by Claire Foy), from the time of her coronation up to the present day. This series will show Queen Elizabeth II's (who has been on the throne for 65 years) early years as the female monarch.

In an attempt to allow the public a closer look at the lives of royalty, "The Crown" will feature the queen's relationship with husband, Prince Philip (played by Matt Smith) whom she married in 1947. Of course, the Queen's relationship with the political rulers will be highlighted. Another major character in "The Crown" will be the British writer, historian, and statesman, Winston Churchill (to be played by John Lithgow).

Viewers can expect "The Crown" to be a visual treat with the elegant surroundings of the royal palace. Along with showing the royal family up close, the viewers will also be taken back to the post-war era in Britain.
