Miss Universe 2016 News: Pia Wurtzbach Confirms Host Country & Date Of Coronation Night; Steve Harvey To Host The Pageant?

Pia Wurtzbach ends all speculations about the whereabouts of the 65th Miss Universe pageant by recently posting a video wherein she tells details about the most prestigious beauty contest in the world. In the said video message, the 27-year old title-holder confirms that she will indeed pass the crown to her successor in her home country, the Philippines.

Along with confirming the country that will be hosting the next Miss Universe competition, Pia Wurtzbach likewise announced the date and venue of the coronation night. A Wikipedia entry reports that the 65th Miss Universe pageant will be held on January 30, 2017 in Manila, Philippines. The venue of the coronation night is set at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Philippines.

Meanwhile as posted in Global Beauties, an email from Miss Universe Organization confirmed the details for Miss Universe 2016. As reported, the gorgeous ladies from participating countries are expected to arrive in Manila on Jan 13.


Now that the host country and pageant date and venue are confirmed, many are probably curious as to who will be the host of the competition. It can be recalled that the host for the 2015 Miss Universe, Steve Harvey made a major mistake in announcing the winners.

A Variety article even posted that the President of the Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte disapprove of having Steve Harvey host the Miss Universe pageant in Manila. Still, Steve Harvey is bind to the pageant due to a five-year contract so he will likely return as the host of the beauty contest next year.
