Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao Returns To The Ring Still Driven To Recapture WBO Welterweight Title

Boxing legend Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao will return to the ring this Saturday, Nov. 5 and face the WBO Welterweight champ Jessie Vargas for a 12-round title fight in Las Vegas. Pacquiao, who will turn 38 next month is now a full-time politician in the Philippines and is still hopeful to reclaim his old glory days. His opponent, Vargas is 10 years younger and believes he has what it takes to send the former champ, Pacquiao back to retirement, via Bleacher Report.

Pacquiao was first set as an opponent for Top Rank boxing star Terence Crawford, who won world titles at 135 and 140 pounds. However, Pacquiao chose to fight Vargas who recently won the WBO welterweight title last March. The Pacman wants to reclaim the title that he previously held for a long time.

People are already making speculations past the Vargas fight and believe that there will be future fight plans for Crawford, Mayweather or others. Pacquiao did not comment and states he still have no other plans after the Vargas title fight. He wants to focus on his current opponent who recently had an incredible performance over Timothy Bradley and Sadam Ali, according to CBS Sports.

After announcing his retirement several months ago, Pacquiao felt something was missing and thinks that there is still something to prove. He said that he began to start planning a return and continue his boxing career last July. In a recent interview, Pacquiao said that he wants to prove that he is still one of the best fighters in the world. He feels like he's only just 27 years old and can match up against anyone, in a report by The Telegraph.

In their title fight weigh-in at the Encore Theatre at Wynn Hotel, Pacquiao tipped the scales at 144.8 pounds while the current champ Vargas weighed in at 146.5 pounds in front of a crowd around 900 fans watched the weigh-in. Pacquiao said he is the challenger and he plans to fight that way. He said doing well is not enough, he wants to take the title away from the current WBO welterweight champ.

Manny Pacquiao hasn't knocked out an opponent since 2009 and he is not getting any younger but he remains focused on putting up a show for his loyal fans. Pacquiao believes that the fight against Vargas will determine the future of his boxing career and he badly wants to win convincingly.
