Amy Adams Has Anxiety Over Her Daughter Learning To Read; 'Arrival' Star Says 'I'm Not The Best Teacher'

Amy Adams might be a big Hollywood star who has been nominated multiple times for her work but the actress admits that she can't keep it together when teaching her 6-year-old daughter to read. The "Arrival" star plays a communications expert in her new film, however, she knows she's not the best teacher for Aviana.

Claiming that in her desire for her daughter to learn to read, she has gotten quite anxious when she teaches her. "I have to remember to calm down and that she'll get it in her own time," she told Entertainment Tonight.

Amy Adams and husband actor Darren Le Gallo announced the birth of their daughter Aviana Olea on May 2010. Acting is in the 6-year-old's genes so it's likely she could be joining her parents in the same industry. Would the "Enchanted" actress discourage her daughter?

Amy Adams is actually not opposed to the idea of her daughter charting an acting career. "I would encourage her to kind of find a great community to get involved with," the actress said, according to The Spec. She would also be open to giving her daughter advice when it comes to acting, so she would have a good work ethic.

The 42-year-old actress is thankful that Aviana is not yet curious nor attracted to the glitzy Hollywood life. She seldom brings her daughter on the set as well and only picks the best time for her to do so. "I think film sets are for grown-ups but she's very quiet so that's OK," the "Man of Steel" actress told Express.

Right now, however, Amy Adams is keen on Aviana really learning how to read and actually got advice from her "Arrival" co-star Jeremy Renner. The father of 3-year-old Ava said that he tries to make learning fun, but he knows that the daughters will eventually outsmart them.
