Intel's New‘Firework’ Drones Set New Guinness World Record For The Most Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Airborne Simultaneously!

Intel corporation with its 500 "firework" drones was able to break its own Guinness World Record for the most unmanned aerial vehicles airborne simultaneously! The drones performed a fireworks-like display over a German stadium.

Intel's "firework" drones, named Shooting Stars, are small quad-copter drones fitted with LED lights. The "firework" drones are made up of plastic and foam and weighs 280 grams each. According to Intel's fact sheet, the "firework" drones' LED lights can display to around four million light combinations.

The 500 "firework" drones are controlled by a pilot through a lights and animation software interface. The fireworks display for the Guinness World Record was designed within a matter of a few days compared to a traditional fireworks display that has to be planned a couple months before.

This could be the future of fireworks displays. It is not only environmentally friendly, it also saves time to plan and coordinate the fireworks show. Although no word yet on how much the "firework" drones are, it is much safer for both the drone pilot and the audience since it does not emit any kind of pollution. More importantly, one can save money in the long run since the "firework" drones can be programmed and be used repeatedly.

The "firework" drones are making their official debut in Disney World resorts. Disney has also been developing their own kind of "firework" drones called "Flixels". A preview of the future light show in Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida shows a fleet of seventy-five drones in the air.

Although not as impressive as Intel's world breaking 500-drone display, Disney's light display is appropriate for the size of the place. This could mean that drones besides being video capturing devices, can now be used for entertainment.
