'Stranger Things' Season 2 Spoilers and Latest Update: Jonathan Byers Will Be 'Darker' Than Before, Charlie Heaton Confirms

The next season of "Stranger Things" is up for release next year, giving a lot of time for fans to speculate what will possibly happen next. "Stranger Things" director Shawn Levy is expected to at least give a glimpse of the next season, but he too has been keeping all a secret.

The hit Netflix series, "Stranger Things" has got some fans frustrated over the lack of details of the upcoming season. No one knows what will happen in the town's mysterious happenings and its alternative universe called "Upside Down."

Levy allegedly kept "Stranger Things" season 2 under wraps so as to preserve the "mystery" behind the show, which became the major selling point. The "Stranger Things" director was asked by Screen Rant if he could give updates to the show, but he declined to share details as he does not want to spoil the fans.

"All I'm going to tell you about season two... Look, as much as people are dying to know what happened, I think the reason Stranger Things has become the phenomenon it has is because no one knew what was coming," he said. "I think there's this delicious torture in not knowing."

Fans are assured, however, that "Stranger Things" is already in the works. It began its production at the beginning of November and Netflix did not disappoint the avid fans when they shared a few glances of the next season.

Millie Bobby Brown will still grace the second season of "Stranger Things" as Eleven, alongside five new characters. One of the characters is Sean Astin, who is known for his role in "The Goonies." "Stranger Things" cast member Charlie Heaton will also reprise her role as Jonathan Byers, but this time, he is said to be "darker" than the previous season.

A teaser video is already out indicating that the next season of "Stranger Things" will only have nine episodes, plus a hint of the series' setting in the fall of 1984. What do you think will happen in the next season of "Stranger Things?" Share your ideas below.
