'The Simpsons' Donald Trump Prediction: Opening Credits Reads "Being Right Sucks"; Writers Express Regret, Not Happy About Prophecy

"The Simpsons" is not happy that they predicted Donald Trump's presidency as they expressed in the opening credits of the latest episode that "BEING RIGHT SUCKS." This is the portion where Bart Simpson writes something on the board as a form of punishment.

Sixteen years ago, the writers of "The Simpsons" predicted that Donald Trump will be the president. The Sunday night episode of "The Simpsons" is the first ever episode that aired after Donald Trump had an unprecedented victory in the presidential race.

In the 2000 episode of "The Simpsons" called "Bart To The Future," where the Donald Trump presidency was predicted, Lisa Simpson was characterized as the first straight female president. She said during that time, "As you know, we've inherited quite a budget crunch from President Trump." Lisa Simpson was cleaning up the nation in that "The Simpsons" episode after the fictional character Donald Trump finished his term as the president of the United States.

During the time that Donald Trump was featured in "The Simpsons" episode in 2000, he was a comedic fit and the episode writer, Dan Greaney, said in a recent statement that they were looking for a celebrity name that would sound absurd, Time reported.

Earlier this year, "The Simpsons" made another episode that was based on Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. The episode was about the two then-presidential candidates were compared as to what they would do if they received an important call in the middle of the night.

Hillary Clinton was well prepared and was ready to go to the White House while Donald Trump was seen busy tweeting and spending a lot of time to get ready before he would go to the White House. "The Simpsons" also referenced the building of another wall seemingly noting that Donald Trump's solution to the problems is to build walls.

It is yet to be seen if the United States would really suffer from a poor economy after Donald Trump's reign as the 45th president of the country. After Donald Trump won the presidency, many took to social media and to the streets to protest his victory.
