Depression And Anxiety Among New Mothers Is Both Expectable And Treatable

Prenatal anxiety is a kind of depression that takes place in women for weeks, before and after birth. It is a highly common type of depression that is experienced by around 100,000 families every year (or maybe more).

According to the New Daily, all around the year, many children are born and many women start to develop similar feelings of fear, anxiety and even depression. If you're one of them, you're not alone. It is horribly common in mothers to have second thoughts and experience feelings of anxiety after giving birth to a child.

Somehow, among the complete happiness of having a newborn, these emotions of stress and anxiety are ignored by the surrounding people. But there comes a time when these spirits take over so much of the soul of the new mothers that they can't even perform normal functions.

They may stop eating and talking, possibly restricting themselves to certain solitary activities. They start fearing how they are going to manage and care for the baby. Will he sleep, will he eat, will he live and many more questions regarding their young crowd their mind to the fullest. These irrational fears intensify so much that they lead to heart attacks and mental disorders.

However, the author of the article (and CEO of Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Australia (PANDA)), Terri Smith states that such depression is treatable. According to Breaking Property News, she tells that such women (and families) are afraid to open up about the whole situation because they feel it's silly and overrated. They feel embarrassed to talk about this matter, which is why they increase the risks of the condition.

Once they come clean and take the help of professionals, they can find solace and support that can help them to overcome the perinatal anxiety. It is very treatable, and many women are living a very happy life, even after suffering through it.
