Black Eyed Peas Rapper Taboo Reveals Battle With Cancer

A number of celebrities battle cancer, and recently, another celebrity just got added to the list. Black Eyed Peas rapper Taboo, or Jaime Luis Gomez in real life, recently came forward to reveal a life-threatening health problem he's been battling.

According to an article by The Doctors, the 41-year-old rapper's secret battle with cancer happened back in 2014. Taboo shared in an interview that he went to the emergency room after feeling worsening pains in his abdomen, spine, and back.

Medical test results showed that Taboo's symptoms were more than just a case of the flu. The Black Eyed Peas rapper was diagnosed with stage 2 testicular cancer.

The next thing he knew, he needed to get his right testicle removed to prevent the cancer from spreading further as it has already begun to attack his lymph nodes. CNN reported that the Black Eyed Peas rapper underwent an aggressive 12-week course of chemotherapy before being declared cancer-free last year.

Taboo revealed that one of the toughest battles with cancer, especially after his surgery, is being unable to play with his children for six months. The rapper and his wife Jaymie Dizon are parents of three sons. The "Where is the Love?" hitmaker shared in another interview that he and Dizon welcomed a miracle baby they named Jett to their family eight months ago.

He has been keeping his fans updated with a series of pictures on his Instagram while undergoing chemotherapy. One of his most heartfelt posts includes a family picture with a caption, "Here is is the reason why I am alive today."

Meanwhile, since his cancer battle, Taboo has been channeling his energy to music, which inspired him in creating his new song entitled "The Fight." He plans to donate all the proceeds from the single to the American Cancer Society.
