Mental Disorders Lead To Dangerous Consequences

The number of kids struggling with mental illnesses is depressing in itself. The causes may differ according to their social class and environments but undeniably the numbers have become larming.

According to Psychological Science more than ten percent children under the age of 20 suffer from mental disorders more than physical illnesses. Community health department of sciences declared that Children with ADHD and such disorders are more likely to perform poorly in academics and engage in more delinquent activities. This raises concerns for parents who are not able to cope with their children's mental health and are so easily frustrated by their unchanging ways that they literally say to their kids "you're on your own, kid".

What these leads to are children indulging themselves in drugs and alcohol since drug abuse becomes very appealing at these stages and once hooked, young teens are unlikely to change their ways unless they are accommodated in intensive rehabilitation facilities. Some are even imprisoned as their criminal record begins to unfold early in life.

The US institute of National Health performed surveys which showed that girls get more depression due to bullying, harassment and such other ill practices. Their depression usually prevails longer than most other temporary mental stresses perhaps because of their greater emotional intelligence than most male counterparts.

Another important change is the use of social networking, texting and interactions on the internet are far more problematic for girls than boys. The depression episodes seem to spread throughout their academic lives.

Psychoanalysts have been analyzing the stress and the factors that elongate its period, deductions are visibly more in favor of boys than in girls. Some of the psychiatrists explain that girls face more problems due to the gender discrimination, and usually girls are not taught to be rough and tough in situations of problematic encounters.
