Eve V News Update: Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella Wants To Try Out The New Crowd-Developed Tablet PC

The CEO of Microsoft Satya Nadella has expressed interest in the new Eve V tablet PC. The Microsoft Surface tablets have dominated the market with their laptop/tablet hybrid and now the company has a new competitor as stated in the Eve V news update.

Eve Inc., which is a Helsinki-based startup that received help from Intel, is now gearing up with the Eve V. The unit has a starting price of $1,399 and can now be pre-ordered through IndieGoGo. The backorders has now reached all the way up to April 2017.

The Eve V has currently raised around $722,833 which is astronomical compared to the company's original $75,000 target as reported in the Eve V news update. According to Business Insider, Eve said that there were so many customers interested in buying the device that the payment processing system of IndieGoGo became flooded with requests.

After reading about the Eve V project, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella became interested in buying a unit to test its capabilities. The CEO of Eve Konstantinos Karatsevidis said that Mr. Nadella will receive a unit once it starts to ship out in February.

The IndieGoGo Eve V campaign was designed for handling the pre-orders and to pay for manufacturing costs. The completed unit Eve V is now very functional and finished to perfection due in part to Intel's funding as included in the Eve V news update.

Karatsevidis also mentioned that the Eve V was created with the input of Eve's community of fans. The fact that the keyboard cover material, the processor, and the overall design of Eve V was the result of the community makes it more special.

In an interview with the Australian Financial Review, Microsoft stated that the company was late into the cloud computing game going against the Amazon Web Services (AWS). Right now, AWS has established enough market shares for a stock upgrade rating from Goldman Sachs.

Critics meanwhile are now more excited with Microsoft rather than the previous gadget leader Apple. This is thanks to Microsoft's mainstream Xbox One console, the reality VR headset HoloLens, and the company's Surface computers.

In other news, CNET reported that Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has recently compared the company's risk-taking initiative with the mild attitude of its competitors. Nadella said that people can combine a refrigerator and a toaster but it will not be interesting to consumers.

This was a jab at Apple Inc. when it launched the iPad Pro and it triggered a confused reaction from the public. This was due to Apple's claims that the device was a computer when the company insisted before that the iPad Pro was a tablet.
