'Hunter x Hunter' Latest News: Yoshihiro Togashi Seen As The Reason For Delay; Series Expected To Arrive In 2017

"Hunter x Hunter" may still be in a long hiatus despite the fact that the manga series has been a phenomenal hit. The long wait has caused the fans to become impatient about its release, sparking more speculations about why "Hunter x Hunter" is taking too long to come out.

One of the long-standing rumors is that "Tokyo Ghoul" creator Sui Ishida is also Yoshihiro Togashi of "Hunter X Hunter." Though it may sound absurd, some fans actually buy the rumor. As a matter of fact, a number of fans believe that "Hunter x Hunter" has to be parked for a while since Togashi has to concentrate on creating "Tokyo Ghoul," which also is a hit manga series.

Fans based their speculations from the fact that "Hunter x Hunter" and "Tokyo Ghoul" have certain similarities. Avid followers of the two manga series can easily tell that both have action-adventure platforms, which strengthened the rumors that the manga' creators are one and the same.

Parent Herald previously reported that new writers will be taking over the "Hunter x Hunter" series, which is said to be the reason why the anime has to be delayed further. A new group of writers is hired to continue the series since Togashi can no longer work for the series, apparently.

This is in contrast with another rumor that Togashi will be replaced by Ishida in creating "Hunter x Hunter" due to the former creator's absence. Several news websites claim that Togashi was compelled to abandon is rights to the franchise since the editors of "Hunter x Hunter" took interest in Ishida's take of Hisoka.

Nevertheless, manga fans are not losing hope that "Hunter x Hunter" will eventually be released in 2017. However, the series' producers has yet to confirm if the rumors and the release date are true.

What do you think is the reason behind "Hunter x Hunter's" long absence?
