Will Vin Diesel Still Get The Role As Black Bolt In 'The Inhumans'? James Gunn Has An Answer

Vin Diesel has been widely interested for the past years about playing Black Bolt in "Inhumans." Diesel has already started leaving a mark in Marvel Cinematic Universe with his role as the voice of Groot in "Guardians of the Galaxy." Diesel would love to play the character of Black Bolt but with certain conditions.

Black Bolt is also known as Blackagar Boltagon who's the ruler of Inhumans, superhumans that are altered genetically. Black Bolt's power is his voice and speaking creates a big disturbance, a destructive shockwave. "The Inhumans" was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby of Marvel Comics in 1965.

Diesel mentioned that it's a matter of Marvel wooing him and not the other way around. His conditions for "The Inhumans" include a "dope" script and a great director, which Kevin Feige is capable of giving it to him, according to Slashfilm. Diesel also mentioned that Feige dazzled him when they tackled about Groot.

However, "The Inhumans" movie became a conflict and from the cancellation of scheduled release for 2019, it was demoted to a television series. Earlier this month, an announcement was made that ABC will launch a television series featuring Black Bolt. Now that "The Inhumans" will hit the television instead of cinemas, it is unlikely that Vin Diesel will still take the Black Bolt role.

James Gunn, the director of "Guardians of the Galaxy," has answered the question about Vin Diesel and "The Inhumans" coming to television. Gunn thinks that it's unlikely Diesel will take the role for the television show unless he wants to take a huge pay cut, according to Screen Rant.

Marvel Studios has released the Phase 3 in 2014 and "The Inhumans" was supposed to be a part of it and was originally scheduled for Nov. 2, 2018 release. After some setbacks, it was rescheduled to appear on Phase 4 and was rescheduled to July 2019 release instead and then an indefinite delay was announced in April.

After how many setbacks, it was announced this week that "The Inhumans" is coming to ABC television series in September 2017. "The Inhumans" television series will run in IMAX for two weeks on its premiere and the second episode before proceeding to ABC network. After the exclusive run in IMAX, "The Inhumans" will start airing on television in fall.
