'Constantine' Returns! Matt Ryan Shares Message For Fans As Hellblazer's Story Continues

"Constantine" actor Matt Ryan is back to playing the role of the Hellblazer. The actor is featured as the well-loved comic book character Constantine in the animated movie "Justice League Dark."

The film is marked for a digital release on Jan. 24, 2017 and a DVD/BluRay release on Feb. 7, 2017 from Warner Bros. Matt Ryan talks to his fans regarding the comeback and the potential for a "Constantine" Season 2 on the small screen.

"Never say never, right?" Matt Ryan said when asked if the animated movie will eventually open the door for the revival on television, according to Comicbook. The short-lived TV show "Constantine" aired on NBC from October 2014 to February 2015 with 13 episodes.

"Constantine" showrunner David S. Goyer once said in an interview that it was a mistake to have the series run on network television. "I think it was the wrong channel and I'm sure they probably agree with that as well," he said, per Variety.

Despite efforts to keep the series, NBC decided its numbers were not good enough. Goyer thinks had it been on a cable network, the show might have stuck longer on air. After its cancellation, the character also had a guest appearance on "Arrow," which was followed up by Matt Ryan doing the voice for the animations.

Regardless of what happened, Matt Ryan feels great to continue being Constantine, albeit in an animated production and not a live-action production. "It's such an iconic role and to have you guys support me is just a fantastic thing so thank you very, very much," the actor said.

It has also given him another chance to play the part and interact with other characters like Batman. "We didn't get to see in the live-action TV show," the actor said, according to Comic Drops.
