‘Supergirl’ Season 2 Episode 8 Recap: Kara Found Out The Truth About Medusa; Is Lena A Friend Or An Enemy?

"Supergirl" Season 2 Episode 8 began in the Danvers apartment where Kara's mother Eliza and sister Alex prepare for Thanksgiving along with James, Winn and Mon-El. James and Winn intended to reveal that James is The Guardian but he was stopped by Alex. Alex then took the floor to come out to her mother until she was interrupted by a time warp.

The eighth episode of "Supergirl" Season 2 highlighted Cadmus' new attempt to take down aliens using a cyborg Superman in the body of Hank Henshaw. Cadmus was also able to get a Kryptonian virus that kills aliens from Kara's biological father. Hank detonated the virus at the alien dive bar which harmed aliens in the vicinity, including Mon-El.

It can be recalled that Kara was attacked by cyborg Superman in the previous episode only to get her blood. Apparently, Kara's blood was used by Cadmus to infiltrate the fortress of solitude and get the virus called Medusa. Kara discovered that the virus was created by his father to protect Kryptonians from other aliens which disappointed the superhero because it is dangerous.

Back in the DEO, Alex finally came out to her mother and she was surprised that her mother was not upset about it. Kara and Jon also had a conversation where Kara revealed that her father created the virus and she is sad to know that her parents are not so good at all. Jon told her that see is her parent's legacy until their talks interrupted by Jon's transformation.

Kara learned that the blood transfusion that healed Jon in the previous episode poisoned him with the White Martian blood. Alex and Eliza then arrived to tell Kara that Hank is on his way to Lena's company to disperse the Medusa virus using L-Corp's isotope. Kara tries to stop Hank and she also saved Lena from Hank's attack.

However, Hank was able to escape as another time warp appeared. After the fight, Supergirl talked to Lena to ask for her help to find her mother Lilian who is behind project Cadmus. Lena seemed to have been offended by Supergirl implying that her mother is devil but Supergirl asked her to be her own superhero because she is not like her mother.

Speaking of Lena, there was a scene on "Supergirl" Season 2 Episode 8 that revealed how she wanted her mother to love her. She had a conversation with Lilian to ask if she is up to something no good which she refused to answer. Surprisingly, after Lena's conversation with Supergirl, Lena was seen with her mother as she launched a rocket that will disperse the virus.

Supergirl had to chase after the rocket while Jon embraced the White Martian in him to fight the cyborg Superman. The rocket still exploded but it did not hurt any aliens because it turned out that Lena made the virus inert by switching out the isotope. Lena also turned her mother to the police.
