‘Final Fantasy XV’s Limited Edition Walkman And Speaker, Is It Worth The Price?

In relation to Final "Fantasy XV's" goal to create a tie-in between the digital and the real world, Sony has produced a limited edition Walkman, H.ear On headphones and an H.ear Go speaker dedicated to "Final Fantasy XV."

The "Final Fantasy XV" Limited Edition H.ear on, H.ear go, and the A-series Walkman are exclusive to Japan only. The A-series Walkman has a price tag of 38,880 yen for the 32 GB version and 33,880 yen for the 16 GB before taxes, based on Sony's pricing. The price of "Final Fantasy XV's" limited edition Walkman is actually lower than the non-limited edition. The 16 GB non-limited edition has a price-tag of $329 in Amazon, while the limited edition is priced at $298 (16GB) based on the latest currency exchange, this is a steal considering that this is a limited edition product.

The H.ear, on the other hand, can be purchased on Amazon for the price of $179.19 while the limited "Final Fantasy XV" edition costs 24,380 yen or $213.07, which is a justifiable price for a limited edition. The H.ear Go has a price tag of 29,380 yen or $256.77, a bit pricey for something that can be bought for $148 in Amazon.

The development team in Square has incorporated a couple of real-life products into 'Final Fantasy XV's" digital world and vice-versa. Earlier this year, Audi has manufactured a one-of-a-kind version of the R8 called the Star of Lucis complete with a dedicated website. The Star of Lucis is Audi's gift to Prince Noctis on his 20th birthday, according to Audi.

"Final Fantasy XV" also gives importance to the nourishment of its characters. The game requires Prince Noctis' party to rest and eat in order to progress and level-up on their skills. This is where the Nissin Food Company comes in, The Nissin cup noodles brand is strategically placed into the game, from delivery trucks to the actual products being consumed by the main characters. This type of product placement may possibly become a trend in the future which is ok if it lowers the future price of video games.
