Stroke Treatment: A Life Disaster

Blood flow to the brain can be stored by clot retrieval, preventing major damage from happening but 600 patients only gets the therapy for this problem and the national audit tells that it is because of the unskilled staff that follows the procedure. Blood supply is interrupted in the brain's vital parts during a stroke.

According to BBC News, blockage of a major vessel in the head due to the blockage of clot is the most common stroke reasons while some are also caused by bleeding. The longer the lack of blood in any part of the brain, the greater will be the lasting damage in that part. Problems in speech and paralysis will also occur.

Many people who are having strokes use drugs for dissolving the clot blockage but it's not always successful. Retrieval of clot is an alternate method that targets the mechanical removal of the clot. This operation is a highly skilled one and for the delivery of the treatment stroke services must be set up.

A mesh housed by a thin metal wire is inserted in a leg's major artery and using x-ray, it is directed to the problem site of the brain. For the removal and trapping of the clot, this mesh expanded like a fishing net.

The major problem faced is that the staffing levels of nurses are not sufficient for providing good care to anyone in need of it and as the guidelines are implemented, the skill level of the nurses should be high rather than low for the successful operations.

Work must be done quickly to improve the facilities so more and more people can get benefits from it and get proper treatment which dramatically can change the disability level after a major stroke and making the treatment cheaper as a facility for everyone.
