A 'Maleficent' Actress Is Unsure Of Her Return In Sequel, Confirms No Talks With Disney Studio Yet

An actress who was part of Disney's "Maleficent," which first ran in theaters in 2014, has confirmed that she hasn't been in talks with the studio for the sequel. She's also unsure if a return to do the new movie is possible.

Lesley Manville, 60, who played one of Aurora's fairy godmothers in "Maleficent," has expressed that she's not aware of any talks about the sequel just yet. No one has approached her agent about the project, thus she has zero knowledge of where the movie's development is so far.

If she does get a call for "Maleficent" however, the seasoned actress said that her schedule is booked until mid-2018. "I don't know when I'd fit 'Maleficent' in if it was happening but let's see," the actress said, List reports.

Lesley Manville was cast as Flittle in the Angelina Jolie-Elle Fanning movie. Her character formed part of a trio with Knotgrass (Imelda Staunton) and Thistlewit (Juno Temple).

Lesley Manville is currently working on a "major film" and will soon do two television shows on BBC. The actress is also set to do a theater production with Jeremy Irons "We're going to bring it to town but not until 2018," she said.

Last April, Disney confirmed that the "Maleficent" sequel will be happening and Angelina Jolie will reprise her role, USA Today reports. The news surprised observers because the actress is well-known for shunning sequels and she once said that her particular Disney film doesn't need a follow up.

Disney writer Linda Wooverton has been tasked to write the upcoming "Maleficent" movie again. She has not revealed specific details to what viewers can expect in the sequel. But she did tease it will be about "the next step" between Aurora and Maleficent, We Got This Covered reports. Keep checking back for more news and updates about "Maleficent" on this site.
