'Stranger Things' Season 2 Will Have A New Focus! Duffer Brothers Confirm It Will Be Noah Schnapp's Will Byers

"Stranger Things" creators Matt and Ross Duffer have had such a banner year. Their successful Netflix series, which launched on the platform in July, was one of the most lauded shows of 2016.

The second season is already in the middle of filming and the Duffer brothers confirm that the focus will be on Will (Noah Schnapp). But fans will have to wait for "Stranger Things" Season 2's airing for a few months. Netflix still hasn't announced its 2017 launch.

Talking to TV Insider, Matt Duffer said that the next season will definitely tackle what happened to Will. "He was obviously in the Upside Down for a while, so it is about what kind of effect it had on him when he came out of it," he said.

The writer and producer also said that "Stranger Things" Season 2 might "feel different" compared to its highly-watched first season. "[It] is more of a gradual build," he said. "We like that it has a different build and structure."

Fans have been anticipating the sequel since the show came out and the Duffer brothers hope that the same reception will be sustained with "Stranger Things" Season 2. They acknowledge that there is some pressure in doing the follow up because of how much the first season was embraced. "It's different working on it, knowing a lot of people are going to watch it," Matt Duffer said.

As to what fans can expect from the upcoming season, hairstylist Sarah Hindsgaul shared a bit of fun fact about Will's sister Nancy (Natalia Dryer). "Nancy has kind of a big hair turn this year," she told Refinery29.

But plot-wise, the cast and crew have been keeping things on the down low to avoid spilling spoilers. What has been confirmed so far is that "Stranger Things" Season 2 will follow one year after Will re-appeared and new characters will be introduced.

"Stranger Things" is currently streaming the first season on Netflix. Check back to this site for more news and updates about the second season.
