'Criminal Minds' Season 12 Episode 9 Set To Air This January, Ratings Continue To Drop After Thomas Gibson Exit!

"Criminal Minds" Season 12 Episode 9 will be airing this January amid the ratings continuing to drop. The ratings went down after Thomas Gibson exited the series.

Travelers Today reported that Gibson was fired from the show by the TV producer after having an altercation with one of the writers. Due to the diving ratings, "Criminal Minds" Season 13 might no longer happen.

Latin Post reported that the upcoming episode of Season 12 will be about the investigation of new murders by the Behavioral Analysis Unit and to let their latest recruit, Stephen Walker, played by Damon Gupton, to do the job. "Criminal Minds" Season 12 Episode 9 will be called "Profiling 202" and will also see Tommy Yates, played by Adam Nelson, coming back. He was the first serial killer introduced in the season 7 of "Criminal Minds."

"Profiling 202" reportedly came from the number of victims that Yates has killed. He was able to commit crimes despite being behind bars. Yates is said to reveal the location where his latest victim is and it will again be announced during a special day. The last time he was seen, he chose to announce where his latest victim was during the birthday of Rossi, played by Joe Mantegna.

More on Gibson no longer being part of "Criminal Minds," it is possible that Shemar Moore's departure also affected the ratings. In the past, them being in the show have resulted to more than 14 million viewers. For "Criminal Minds" Season 12, the viewers are now at 8 million. Also, many of the veteran actors part of "Criminal Minds" in the past season will no longer be seen as they have been replaced. Many are saying that the change in the characters and the cast is due to the fact that it will balance the storyline while others believe it has something to do with seniority.

The midseason premiere of "Criminal Minds" Season 12 will air this January 4, 2017. It will be on CBS at 9 p.m.
