Tension Arises In ‘Chicago P.D.’ Season 4 When ‘Revenge’ Alum Nick Wechsler Joins The Squad!

Spoilers for season 4 of "Chicago P.D." reveal fans will see "Revenge" alum Nick Wechsler (as Kenny Rixton) joining the squad when the series returns this January 2017. Tension arises when he comes in.

The upcoming episode will feature the squad in conflict when Voight (played by Jason Beghe) tags along his former protégé Kenny Rixton into the Intelligence team. Unfortunately, the squad was not very accommodating and Kenny will have difficulty blending in.

In an interview with TVLine, executive producer Matt Olmstead reveals that the unit members are eager to know more about Kenny as they want to know who they will be working with. However, the team will not get the information they want as Voight is not the type who is eager to fully explain his plans nor defends his decision to the members of his subordinates. Olmstead also noted that Voight will unlikely push his team to accept the newbie Kenny. At the back of Voight's mind, he just know Kenny will work things out and the gang should not mind if the latter is new.

Apparently, Voight's silence will not be good enough for some members of his unit. The EP noted that Halstead (played by Jesse Lee Soffer) and Atwater (played by LaRoyce Hawkins) will really insist to get details about Kenny.

The magazine also mentioned that fans of "Chicago P.D." will witness varying reactions from the members of the squad on the arrival of Kenny. Things will get worse as Voight truly believes in the potential of Kenny and Olmstead revealed this will result to heartache for the Sergeant. The EP further teased that fans will have to look forward if Kenny will be able to overcome his transition from being a gang member to a legit detective. Moreover, Olmstead teased "Do old habits die hard?" which seems to hint that Kenny will struggle with the transition.

"Chicago P.D." midseason will premiere on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017 at 10 p.m. on NBC. It will be the second hour of the two-hour block of the crossover of "Chicago P.D." with "Chicago Fire" which starts at 9 p.m., Fansided noted.
