'Man Down' Did Not Sit Well With Critics; Disappointing In Handling A Very Serious Issue!

The movie "Man Down" did not do well with critics at all as it was released back on Dec. 2, 2016. It is described as disappointing to most critics who watched it. Some moviegoers share the same sentiments as well.

According to Movie Insider, the movie "Man Down" revolves around the life of US Marine Gabriel Drummer as he returns home from Afghanistan. He then realizes that the life he calls home is no better than the fighting fields of the war-torn country.

He is accompanied by his best friend Devin Roberts. He is known to be a hard-nosed marine whose natural instinct is to shoot first before asking questions. Having that personality gives both a good mix as they go on a quest to find the estranged son, Jonathan and wife, Natalie.

There are many factors revolving around the movie. All the different issues and challenges which is supposed to make the movie interesting most likely made the it lack-luster. It is true what they say that too much of something is bad enough.

The movie "Man Down" stars Shia LaBeouf as Gabriel Drummer. He is also joined by Kate Mara as Natalie Drummer, Gary Oldman as Captain Peyton, Jai Courtney as Devin Roberts, Clifton Collin Jr. as Charles and many more.

As added by Rotten Tomatoes, the movie only had 11 percent rating. This is by far one of the lowest ranks the website had for all movies of 2016. It only had an average of 3.6 points out of a possible 10.

Not to dampen the spirits of those who made the movie, 81 percent of the moviegoers who saw the film said they liked it. It may have mixed reviews, with more leaning on the lower ranks but some still liked the movie.

Darren Franich of Entertainment Weekly said that the movie "Man Down" is uniquely unpleasant mash-up of moody post-apocalyptic adventure and moodier wartime drama. Roger Moore of Movie Nation said that Dito Montiel still thinks he is the new Scorsese but he still isn't.
