A Father's Love: First Male Maybelline Ambassador Manny Gutierrez's Father Shoots Back At Hateful Blogger, Says He Supports Son

Manny Gutierrez, a beauty influencer, was tapped as the first male Maybelline ambassador. However, this was not taken positively by one blogger and targeted the father of Gutierrez, who subsequently released an open letter addressed to the hater of his son and explained how he has been so supportive and involved in the life of his make-up artist child.

On Jan.6, blogger Matt Walsh took to Twitter to post a photo of Gutierrez, who was all glammed up for his Maybelline shoot. In the post, Walsh captioned it with, "Dads, this is why you need to be there to raise your sons." Many supporters of Gutierrez came to his defense saying that Walsh's children should have another father figure who will teach them respect and kindness.

Scott Hoying, best known as part of the group Pentatonix, also got involved with the matter on Jan. 14 by saying Gutierrez inspires and uplifts countless people in the world while Walsh has a hateful blog that no one reads, Us Weekly reported. Gutierrez himself responded to Walsh's tweet by retweeting the post and saying that his dad actually works for him and that his father is very proud of him.

Gutierrez followed it up with a post on Instagram showing the message of his father to Walsh. In the message that Gutierrez's father sent to his son, he said he saw the post of Walsh and the blogger was considered lucky because he had no contact information. Gutierrez's father then asked his son to post his open letter on all his social media platforms. The father of the Maybelline ambassador added he has always been there for his son and is proud of what and who Gutierrez have become.

Gutierrez's father continued to say that maybe Walsh was talking about them the way he did because he did not know anyone in the LGBT community, adding people like his son are the most kind-hearted human beings. He ended his statement by saying that he hopes Walsh would choose his actions and words wisely and he would do just the same for his family as what Walsh would do for his, Daily Mail reported.

Walsh responded to Gutierrez's father's open letter but noted he would not apologize for what he said, stressing he did not attack them personally. Walsh argued he was pointing out the behavior of feminizing men, which for him is disordered and the philosophy on gender is toxic. Meanwhile, the Gutierrezes have yet to comment on Walsh's statements.
