Lindsey Rodni-Nieman remains hopeful her missing 16-year-old daughter is still alive. The search continues for California teen Kiely Rodni, who was last seen at a campground party in the Lake Tahoe area earlier this month.

The worried mom told NBC Bay Area on Tuesday, August 16, that they were still waiting for Kiely to come through the door. According to officials, she was last seen near the Prosser Family Campground in Truckee on August 6 at a party attended by hundreds of young adults and juveniles.

The last ping from Rodni's cell phone came in at 12:30 a.m. on that Saturday, and her vehicle, a 2013 silver Honda CRV, remains missing at this point. According to Rodni-Nieman, her daughter sent her a text on the night of the party. Her daughter said that she would be on her way home, but she never made it back.

What happened to Rodni?

Rodni-Nieman said that they still don't know what happened to her, and they are working to piece together those last moments that Rodni was at the party to figure out where she went and with whom, ABC News reported.

According to the Placer County Sheriff's Office, the search effort to find Rodni will continue but in a more limited way. Rodni-Nieman said that even though there has been plenty of talk of a reduction in personnel, a tremendous number of people still continue to tirelessly work on her daughter's case.

She said that what keeps her going as the search nears the two-week mark is the continued support she is getting from the community, family members, and her daughter's friends. She added that Rodni's friends who were there with her at the party had been nothing but so cooperative in the investigation.

Rodni's mom not losing hope

Rodni-Nieman said they have been so courageous in coming forward and sharing their stories. She added that she really appreciates Rodni's friends working so hard in the case and being honest in sharing everything they know.

According to the sheriff's office, the missing teen was seen in a video taken at the party wearing a white sweatshirt. "Odd Future" was printed across the garment in pink lettering, according to the New York Post. The sheriff's office added that it is unclear if Rodni was wearing the sweatshirt when she was last seen.

Anyone who saw Rodni before she went missing or had information about the teen's whereabouts is asked to contact authorities. People can call the tip line at 530-581-6320 (option 7) or send tips to sheriff_tahoeinvesttips@placer.ca.gov.

Anyone with pictures or videos in connection with the disappearance is asked to submit them online. People can remain anonymous when submitting information and tips. Rodni-Nieman is optimistic her daughter will be found, saying that Rodni is strong and she is capable, smart, tenacious, and feisty.
