Several fans are excited for the major comeback of "Fast and Furious" in the big screen. Now, new reports claimed that Vin Diesel is currently working on and starring in a solo spinoff from the blockbuster hit film.
Vin hinted that there will be spinoffs during an interview with Variety. "We've written out story lines for various characters," he said. "We've been playing with it for a long time. It's a very rich property and we're committed to treating it with a lot of class."
The suggestions of Vin seemed possible! As a matter of fact, Universal Pictures Chairman Donna Langley said that they are currently in the talks on expanding the franchise.
"We're certainly in conversations about how we can expand the franchise now," she said. "It's an ensemble cast and there's room to bring characters in and out."
Aside from the spinoff, fans should also watch out for "Fast and Furious 8" as F. Gary Gray will be bringing a different flavor to the movie. As a matter of fact, it is Vin himself who confirmed that the upcoming series will be taken into a much "darker" direction. "We have a director who is going to bring the darkness out and bring out the character," the actor-producer said.
Director Gray, on the other hand, revealed that he is all set to delve into a new exciting project such as "Fast and Furious 8." "I'm a fan of the cars and the world and after being on 'Straight' for four years, it was time to have some fun," he said.
International Design Times previously reported that fans should expect more actions in the film. "The stunts presented at each installment grew more and more grand to the point where skydiving cars became a reality," the entertainment news outlet said in a report. "Jeff Shell, the Chairman of Universal Filmed Entertainment Group, believes the franchise has hit its height."
"Fast and Furious 8" is set to be released on April 15, 2017 while "Furious 7" will hit theaters on April 3, 2015.
