Before Diego Boneta heated up the small screen as Pete Martinez in Fox's "Scream Queens," the Mexican native had been crooning seductive ballads. Late last year, the "Rock of Ages" star released a rock song, "The Hurt," but now he's back with an '80s jam on "Ur Love."
As it turns out, the inspiration for the song came from a childhood crush of Boneta's. "[It] was my third grade crush," Diego told Teen Vogue. "Which was the first time I ever understood what liking a girl meant - the excitement and the adrenaline."
The song does reflect and evoke those giddy feelings - the song is energetic and undeniably catchy. The strong synth beats are balanced with Diego Boneta's light and sweet lyrics.
In fact, "Ur Love" is a perfect song to sing along to while cruising around in the car. So maybe it's only fitting that Diego also conjured up a whole concept for the music video that's very fitting with the song's vibe.
"I am very happy to share another side of me in that seductive song," Boneta said. "I seriously love working with Kool Kojak, as we really understand each other musically and this is why I think 'Ur Love' is so great."
In fact, Diego Boneta shares that the synth-heavy single's complimentary music video was inspired by Ryan Gosling's 2011 film "Drive."
"I have always been a big fan of the movie 'Drive' and the style of the music video truly represents who I am as a person and artist," Boneta told Latina magazine.
Although he doesn't go full on Ryan Gosling with the leather bomber jacket, Diego Bonesta still channels and evokes that carefree spirit when you're driving around late at night.
And just like it came straight out of a movie, Boneta was luckily able to find a special someone to share that feeling with. Watch the music video below!
