Aspiring country singer Amy Duggar King revealed on her Instagram that she is not allowed to hang out with her cousins, the daughters of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, unless under supervision. The conservative couple didn't want her influencing their daughters with her non-traditional Christian lifestyle.
Amy is not the conservative type knowing that she wears some revealing clothes and she also has kissed her husband before they got married - something that the Duggars don't condone. Apparently, these are just among the things that Jim Bob and Michelle didn't want their kids to copy from her. She considers herself as a free spirit and she has quite a reputation of living her life according to how she wants it.
According to Radar Online, Amy can visit the Duggar girls in their house but is forbidden to go out with them. There is no way that she is allowed to go have dinner or even watch the movies with them like what girls their age do. She can't just drag her cousins outside of the house, especially if her aunt and uncle are not around.
In an article published by The Inquisitr, Amy revealed it in one of the comments on her post on Instagram saying, "It's a rule...that if I want to spend quality time with them, I have to come see them. They don't want me to influence them." She admitted this used to be an issue for her, but she eventually just became used to it.
Lots of people on that post asked her how she felt about being forbidden to go out with her own cousins. "It used to really bother me and then I realized that I just live knowing that God gives us grace. I can only be myself and even though we don't see eye to eye on every little thing we are still family and I do still love them," Amy replied. "I respect their standards and I don't fuss about it."
