The game turned into a real life nightmare of deadly adventures is going to resurrect after 10 years of peace. Last year, Sony announced a reboot of the classic 1995 Jumanji film and recently, we hear Dwayne Johnson top billing the still unnamed cast and promising to honor the late comedian, Robin Williams' portrayal of Alan Parrish.

For those who weren't born in 1995 yet, Jumanji is a fantasy film taken from Chris Van Allsburg's book with the same name. Jumanji is in fact the title of the game that the movie's plot is centered on. 12-year-old Alan Parrish way back on 1969 found an old chest, opened it and discovered a game that he started playing with his friend Sarah. A wrong move got him stuck inside Jumanji and 26 years later, two siblings, Judy and Peter, who moved in Alan's old house, finds the chest again and restarts the game that Alan and Sarah left unended before. A series of misadventures happen as creatures from animalandia began to pop out from the board game. Alan as an adult himself is freed after more than 20 years of abduction but Jumanji will not be closed until they play it to the very end.

There are few details about the upcoming reboot, but what we know is that Jake Kasdan is directing and Dwayne Johnson is both acting and producing. In one of his recent Instragram posts, The Rock dishes about what fans can expect in the coming days. One, there is still no announcement of other cast members that Dwayne revealed would be named this week. Two, there are 3 main characters in the original Jumanji film but in this coming reboot, there will be 5. And lastly, he promises to respect and celebrate Robin Williams' one-of-a-kind performance in the 1995 Jumanji film.

"The love and respect I have for this man (Robin Williams) is boundless. You have my word, we will honor his name and the character of "Alan Parrish" will stand alone and be forever immortalized in the world of JUMANJI in an earnest and cool way. I have an idea of what to do and I think his family will be proud," part of his Instagram caption said.

According to Hollywood Life, fans are hoping to see a grown-up Kirsten Dunst (Judy) and Bonnie Hunt (Sarah) returning to reprise their roles. Obviously, even though Dwayne Johnson promises to honor Robin Williams, the actor can't make an appearance or it'll be haunting us Jumanji film viewers for the rest of our lives.

But more than news of the cast, MTV thinks The Rock's Instagram post insinuates that this reboot will follow the trails of the story that the original Jumanji film left. It will, therefore, probably, be more of a sequel than a remake.

Initially, reports said the Jumanji reboot would be released in theaters during this year's holidays but the final and official release date is on July 28, 2017. Prepare yourselves now before your world is shaken again with Jumanji's thrilling craziness.
