‘ARK: Survival Evolved’ Latest News & Updates: Studio Wildcard To Wipe All ‘ARK’ Servers Clean At Release? V244.0 PC Patch Details, Release Date Revealed!

Several "ARK: Survival Evolved" fans have been worried about the wiping out plans of Studio Wildcard on all "ARK" servers at the game's official launch this coming winter season. As a matter of fact, an "ARK: Survival Evolved" fan posted a letter on Reddit, requesting the game's developer not to delete "all the work he and his tribe have accomplished" in the game.

Unfortunately, Studio Wildcard's initial response was quite unpleasant as "ARK: Survival Evolved" lead designer and co-creative director Jeremy Stieglitz said that they'll wipe out the official servers when "ARK" launches later this year. But the wiping will be done after archiving the save data for those who wish to host on their own.

"At ship, we will archive the Official Servers and post all their save data so that anyone can continue to host them if they wish," Stieglitz posted on Reddit. "And we'll then wipe the servers, to ensure everyone has a fair shot at dominance with the newly-shipped game."

Studio Wildcard To Wipe All 'ARK: Survival Evolved' Servers Clean At Release?

After hearing the response and comments from several "ARK: Survival Evolved" fans and gamers, however, the Studio Wildcard team seemed to have changed their minds. In fact, Stieglitz announced that only those rarely used "ARK: Survival Evolved" servers will be wiped out at launch, SegmentNext notes.

Stieglitz also added that "ARK: Survival Evolved" players will be notified a month before the wiping of the servers. The save data will be also be provided to players who want to re-host while new "ARK: Survival Evolved" servers will also be added.

"Alright then, I've thought a lot about this, read a lot of commentary on the subject, and understand the time players have been putting into the game," Stieglitz said, as per Inquisitr (For Stieglitz's complete statement, check out the Reddit post). "Here is the final word on the matter: we will not be wiping the Official Servers on ARK's release."
