One Direction New Song 2015: Zayn Malik Thinks 'Drag Me Down' is 'Sick'

One Direction released their new single "Drag Me Down" on July 31, their first new single since Malik's departure. The new track quickly climbed the charts, from Spotify to iTunes and to dozens of radio stations.

Thousands of Directioners were also relieved when Zayn Malik tweeted that the new hit single is "sick."

"Proud of my boys the new single is sick," Malik tweeted Saturday afternoon. "Big love. :) x"

It was a breaking news last March when Zayn Malik decided to leave One Direction. The singer says he wants "... to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight. I know I have four friends for life in Louis, Liam, Harry and Niall. I know they will continue to be the best band in the world," Malik said in a statement, according to MailOnline.

Malik may have left One Direction, but their bond will never be broken entirely. He just can't help but feel proud of his former bandmates' success with their new single, without him.

Malik's approval of "Drag Me Down" through his tweets is a good reason for Harry, Liam, Louis and Niall to celebrate, aside from the fact that the single is the fastest song ever to reach number one on iTunes, according to HollywoodLife.

Now that 1D is focused on making good music as a foursome, Malik is also preparing for a solo career. "I guess I never explained why I left," he tweeted. "It was for this moment to be given the opportunity to show you who I really am! #RealMusic #RCA."

Simon Cowell showed his support for Zayn's achievement in his tweet. "I believe they are the perfect label for @ZaynMalik's solo career and I am sure whatever they release together will be special," Cowel said.

However, speculations about Zayn's hashtag #realmusic was seen by some as a diss to 1D, even though he tweeted nice words to show support to the new single of his former band. The hashtag created rumors of a rift between the boys. Still, many are wondering about One Direction's reaction to the hashtag.

The question now is: Do you think One Direction will also show their support for Zayn's major solo career achievement?
