Your Favorite Emojis Will Have A Big Screen Debut In 'The Emoji' Movie! Trailer Out, Watch Here!

If there is one thing that movies such as "Minions" and "The Secret Life of Pets" prove, it is that cuteness can be profitable. Both flicks did well in the box-office, and this fact probably encouraged the creation of another film that is just too cute -"The Emoji" movie. Yes, your favorite characters to liven up your text messages have leveled up and now ready to take the cinemas by storm.

As posted in Slash Film, "The Emoji" movie will be a 3D animated film to be produced by Sony Pictures. The official teaser for the movie features an emoji with a downtrodden expression inviting everyone to see the film.

Though the teaser is probably meant to be ironic, the writer of the Slash Film article sees it as a sign that the movie may not prove to be that spectacular. Of course, the writer is also hoping that this bad first impression is wrong.

Meanwhile, an article from Dark Horizons offer more insights about the plot by saying that its main character will be Gene, an emoji which is deemed different from a normal emoji because it has multiple expressions.

In an effort to discover the code that will make Gene normal, the emoji will seek the help of other characters in the story, Hi-5 and Jailbreak. The setting is the land of the emojis called Textopoilis.

The writers for "The Emoji" movie are Mike White, Tony Leondis, and Eric Siegel. "The Emoji" movie is set for release on Aug. 4, 2017, and will feature the voices of T.J. Miller, James Corden, and Ilana Glazer.
