Being a parent is hard and it's definitely not just something that you can manage on a daily basis. It takes effort, time, and years to build a strong and responsible system of parenting. However, all parents can relate to one thing: their children. Parents may have raised their children in different ways and it's pretty normal since people, in general, are different and they show different beliefs, attitudes, and personalities.

Whether you're already a parent or a parent-to-be, parents should be aware of their own selves as well. This includes their attitude and personality. These qualities, whether bad or good, will be seen and observed by your children, that's why parents should be careful and sensitive in everything that they do. Parents are the children's' top role models, and their attitude and personality may have an influence from their parents.

If you want to be the most awesome parent there is on the planet, here are 10 ways and tips that you can follow.

  1. Always take charge. As parents, you are expected to have the rules. Children should understand why there are certain limits that they should follow at home for them to be ready when they explore the outside world. You can set your boundaries to your kids without being to tight on them.

  2. Let your child be. Don't clip your child's wings. Instead, let them be who they want to be and what they want to do. The life of a child can grow, and they should gain independence slowly as they grow up. Start by giving them small tasks to do and ask them what are the things they want to do.

  3. Discipline is not punishment. Children make mistakes-- in fact, everyone of all ages do. However, this does not equate to you punishing them. You can discipline your children by not being violent and talk to them in the most calming yet controlled way.

  4. Spend time with your children. As they grow up, aside from material things, children would really crave for your time and attention. As much as possible, regardless of how busy you are, always have time for them. You can start by making a special bonding with your kids that you will enjoy.

  5. Have enough daddy time. We can all say, children, while they're growing up, they are most likely close to their mothers because mothers tend to be more loving, sensitive, and passionate towards them. Father time with the kids is important for them to build a bond between them and their dads and also gives a child balance.

  6. Make fun memories. Going for a walk in the park, eating dinner outside, or going to the movies are just some ideas that you can do with the whole family at least once or twice a week. If you don't have the budget to do so, just watching TV with the whole family, or doing a family grill out can make life-long memories that your children will treasure.

  7. Always be a good role model. Children will always look up to their parents, so you should be careful with your actions. Kids learn a lot and almost everything from their parents, such as behavioral traits.

  8. Be honest. If you want your kids to be honest with you, you need to be honest so yourself. Honesty and respect should go both ways in the family, and it should be one of the foundations of your family relationship.

  9. Engage in your kids every day. A simple "how was your day?" can already mean a lot and would lead to a conversation with your children. Make sure you are updated and aware of your children's lives and you don't miss out on anything.

  10. Raise your children right. Parenting is no joke, and it's hard to raise kids. However, raising them in the right way is easier than you think. Always find ways to help your children grow in a respectful and humble way because they will most likely bring this when they grow up.

Try to incorporate these tips into your everyday life and see what works for you. Your family will thank you for it.
