Have you been suspecting that you're pregnant? If so, this article is just the one you need to help you determine if you really are or not. A lot of women are just aware of morning sickness and unusual food cravings that would confirm they are pregnant, but little do some women know, those are not the only valid signs if you are in fact pregnant.

The earliest signs of pregnancy may show up as early as a week after conception. However, there are some women that are already doubtful-- or hopeful-- that they are pregnant even before they miss their period. Keep in mind that pregnancy symptoms also vary in their intensity, duration, and frequency. If you're one of those women who are suspect they are pregnant, here is a list of symptoms that you can look into and check if you have a baby on the way. But, be mindful that there are certain early pregnancy symptoms that are similar or close to pre-menstrual symptoms that bring only discomfort to women.

  • Swollen breasts. This is also a pre-menstrual symptom, but this is one of the first symptoms of pregnancy as well. Hormonal changes may occur as early as two weeks after conception. Usually, your breasts will feel tender and slightly sore. If you take a look at it in a physical aspect, your breasts will look fuller and may feel heavier.

  • Cramping and spotting. This is the most tricky thing about pregnancy symptoms. If you're pregnant, you may experience small amounts of blood spots and vaginal bleeding. This is called implantation bleeding. This happens when the fertilized egg attaches to the lining of the uterus, which is about 10 to 14 days after fertilization. This type of bleeding does not usually last long and can happen before your period. The blood will also look lighter than your normal period. The cramps, however, are like the usual menstrual cramps that you experience, but some might experience tougher cramps.

  • Nausea. Nausea comes in two types: the ones that make you vomit and the ones that don't. The vomiting type is called morning sickness. This is the most common term in pregnancy. Despite it being called morning sickness, this may happen at any time of the day. A lot of women experience nausea and vomiting as early as two weeks after conception. Nausea is caused by a rapid increase in estrogen in the system. A lot may cause and trigger nausea, such as strong odor from food or anything that surrounds the pregnant woman.

  • Mood swings. In an emotional aspect, women who are pregnant can be a little more sensitive than they usually are. The hormones in a pregnant woman's body in early pregnancy can make you very emotional. Usually, mood swings happen during the first trimester.

  • Missed period. This is the most common pregnancy symptom that even men know. However, there are women who get lighter periods compared to other women. There might be a possibility that you haven't yet experienced the previuosly mentioned symptoms, but if you already missed your period, it's best to get a pregnancy test.
