Mary-Kate Olsen Stays with Twin Ashley After Filing a Divorce
A source told ET that Mary-Kate Olsen and husband Pierre Olivier Sarkozy are getting a divorce after five years of being together. The former actress has already filed an emergency order to petition for divorce, according to TMZ.
The 33-year-old producer alleges that this week, her attorneys received emails from Sarkozy's lawyer, giving her a deadline of until May 18 to move out of the place. She also said that her husband terminated their lease without informing her, and she has requested an extension until May 30, but Sarkozy has no reply.

Due to the quarantine guidelines of New York City, Olsen could not meet the deadline, which is this coming Monday, according to the documents obtained by TMZ. She said that the only way she could protect her property is by filing a divorce petition, which would cause an automatic court order to prevent the French banker from disposing of her property.
A source told Us Weekly that Olsen's business interests and wealth are protected. The former actress owns and operates a couture clothing line, "The Row," which was found in 2006 by her and her sister Ashley Olsen. In the business website, items for sale like cotton pants worth $1,600, suede jackets priced at $4,800, and so on are posted. Apart from that, the Olsen sisters also run "Elizabeth and James," a contemporary fashion label.

On April 17, the fashion designer tried to file for a divorce, but New York courts declined because they were only accepting emergency filings except for divorce due to the coronavirus pandemic. Olsen's case has reached emergency status, however, because her husband is forcing her out of their apartment in New York City. Olsen is requesting the enforcement of their prenuptial agreement as reported in TMZ, but her husband has no reply.
