Gold-finding missions in the past

Among the members of the group, Shannon had the most extensive experience, with four years under his belt. Within those years, he was able to collect thousands of small pieces of gold.

However, Shannon shares that the discovery with his family is one of the most significant that he has ever had. He said, "To have two large chunks in one day is quite amazing."

Shannon believes that their recent discovery is one of the reasons why he loves what he is doing. The thought that they are the first ones to see those pieces of gold after so many years is just priceless for the gold hunter.

The brothers-in-law are part of the fifth season of the show Aussie Gold Hunters.

Other gold discoveries

The two gold nuggets of this Australian family is not the first-ever recorded.

In a report by CNN, it was said that an amateur explorer discovered another gold nugget in 2013. This gold nugget weighs at least 12.1 pounds and is worth 300,000 US dollars. This gold nugget was found in Ballarat, south of Tarnagulla.

According to experts, gold had been found in that region since 1851.

Although the enthusiasm of gold hunters from the past and today are the same, today is different. That is because detectors and other modern equipment already guide them.
