Christina Ricci As Morticia Goes Viral -- See Here! [Photo]

"Addams Family" star Christina Ricci has channelled her inner mother, Morticia Adams that is, in a new photo that has been spreading like wildfire over the internet.

According to E! News, after the photo caused a stir online on Monday, Yahoo! reports that while the actress looks stunning, it's actually a photo-shopped publicity image of Anjelica Huston from the 1900s. The promotional image was from the 1990s, either the 1991 "The Addams Family" or the 1993 sequel, "Addams Family Values," noted the publication. Ricci appeared in the movie as Morticia's daughter, Wednesday.

The black and white snap shows the 35-year-old wearing a sleek, tight-fitting black dress with a plunging neckline. While the photo has been debunked, it hasn't stopped fans from spreading the image over social media.

The site notes that Ricci, aged 11 at the time, became an instant sensation thanks to her excellent portrayal of the somber, gloomy Wednesday. The film was inspired by the 1960s TV series as well as Charles Addams' original carton strips.

The photo has since stirred talk for a reunion. Unfortunately, while the photo isn't real and simply posted by Mystical Enchantment over Tumbler, there is no official "Addams Family" reboot in the works, notes Movie Pilot.

However, the seed has already been planted. The site went on the share, "However, the perfection that is this photo-shopped photo has us thinking that it may be just the right time to continue The Addams Family movies, and Christina Ricci absolutely MUST play Morticia Addams, no one else could do the role justice!"

While a sequel has yet to be developed, with Halloween 2015 around the corner, it's possible this viral photo could be bringing back the popularity of Morticia come the holiday.
