How to Get Rid of Headaches Instantly and Naturally

Drink water

Many simple headaches are caused by dehydration. Make sure you drink enough water, especially during the summertime. 


Use a cold pack

Place a cold pack on your forehead to relieve a migraine. You may wrap ice cubes in a towel or use a bag of frozen peas to lessen your pain. Compress the ice pack on your head for 15 minutes, rest, then place it again if needed. 


Use a hot compress

You could relieve tension or sinus headache by applying a hot compress. Use a heating pad and place it at the back of your head or neck to relieve a tension headache. Place a warm cloth on the hurting area to relieve a sinus headache.

Dim the lights

Migraine headaches could be caused by bright or flickering light. Sometimes even your computer screen could cause your head to hurt. Try using blackout curtains or using anti-glare screens on your computer. Wear sunglasses when you are outdoors. 


Remove pressure

Too tight ponytail, hat or headband wearing, or even swimming goggles could cause external compression headaches. Try to loosen them to remove the pain.
