The survey conducted by OnePoll revealed that seven out of ten Americans said that the quarantine due to the pandemic made them nostalgic compared to before.

A recent survey reveals that Americans became more nostalgic due to the pandemic.

The survey was conducted on behalf of CanvasPop. The study aimed to know the ways respondents reminisce while they are at home.

The survey

The survey has 2000 respondents, and it showed that the average respondent has been binge-watching TV episodes and movies since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.

At least, the average respondent has rewatched 30 TV episodes and 14 movies.

Americans have been binge-watching TV episodes and movies since the pandemic.

Some of the titles that are on the top of the lists of the respondents are:

  • Seinfeld
  • Game of Thrones
  • Indiana Jones
  • Jurassic Park

Americans became more nostalgic

According to the results of the survey, Americans became more nostalgic sometime in May 2020.

Americans have been binge-watching TV episodes and movies since the pandemic.

The study also revealed that due to the pandemic, most of the Americans became more nostalgic because they have been missing out on some of their favorite activities.

Since the pandemic quarantines, a lot of activities have been restricted, from going into crowded places to being too near with each other, thus restricting gatherings as well.

Some of these activities are:

  • Traveling (30 percent)
  • Family reunions (29 percent)
  • Events like weddings (17 percent)

These were only few of the believed many other activities Americans missed during the quarantines.

After nostalgia comes motivation

Even though the Americans became more nostalgic, this also led them into doing other activities. Specifically, the quarantines due to the pandemic led most of the respondents to redecorate their homes.

Some of the redecorations that the respondents already did are:

  • changing the wall art (30 percent)
  •  changing the furniture or improving the decor (28 percent)
  • Changing up their space

Other changes brought by the nostalgia

Aside from redecorating their homes, some respondents also felt the need to purchase some throwback items.

Some respondents also felt the need to purchase some throwback items.

One out of four respondents said they brought a vintage item since the quarantines due to the pandemic.

Some of the items brought by the respondents include:

  • memorabilia
  • personal photos
  • prints from a previous vacation
