Michelle Branch Miscarriage in December, Shares How She is Coping

The year 2020 has been tough for all of us. But, for those who struggled with health, death, and miscarriage during the COVID-19 pandemic, the year became almost unbearable. Michelle Branch miscarriage story is one of a strong woman who braved the pandemic lockdown with the most unfortunate end to the year.


Michelle Branch Miscarriage Post on Instagram

The "Everywhere" singer shared a candid post on Instagram after Christmas. The singer shared a series of family photos in an IG post, US Magazine reported. She also opened up about the heartbreaking news of a devastating miscarriage.

Already a mum-of-two to 15-year-old daughter Owen Isabelle and 2-year-old Rhys James, Michelle shared how heart-wrenching the year ended. "Just when we were rounding third and heading home, 2020 was not done yet," Branch said, referring to a baseball metaphor and the pandemic.

"December finished us off with a bang," the 37-year-old singer said while also mulling over the news of the Nashville bombing on Christmas day. Speaking about her first miscarriage, Michelle described the experience as "twisting a dagger to the heart."

Coping with a Miscarriage

The "Are You Happy Now?" singer suffered many days and nights crying for the loss of her little angel. Michelle admitted to binge eating Christmas cookies.

Thankfully, her family was there with her during these struggling times. "My precious family, my husband, sister, and kids-cannot imagine spending a year of isolation with anyone else." Branch ended the post with a greeting, "Happy Christmas, everyone xx."

The '90s pop rock-country singer also shared how she one day got the courage to pull herself together. "One day, I decided to put on lipstick and wear a dress." She spent Christmas with her family, drinking champagne, enjoying a festive meal, and singing Christmas songs by the fire.

Branch is looking forward to the end of the year, counting the days until it is finally a new year. But, she admits to her fans, "I am limping to the finish line," Today reported. She counts her family as the MVPs who have helped her through a year of struggle.

Michelle Branch and Patrick Carney Lose Baby Amid Pandemic

Branch started dating The Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney. They met at a Grammy party, and sparks flew while they worked on "Hopeless Romantic," which Carney produced.

The couple got married in April 2019. Her son, Rhys was born one year after their engagement. Her third pregnancy would have been a wonderful Christmas gift to the family. However, their plans and expectations were crushed as the year came to a close.

Michelle is already a mom to a daughter with ex Teddy Landau. They divorced in 2015 after around ten years of marriage, but successfully co-parents to date. Speaking about co-parenting, she shares, "It became easy to focus on our daughter-how she felt and how to make it normal for her." The singer revealed having a child was the balancing factor, so they did not get too caught up with the divorce.
